Our journey seems more real now more than ever. With 90% of our trip booked, we start the countdown. We have spend countless hours researching economically friendly solutions to our big expensive aspirations and are finally ready to depart.

Planning this girthy expedition on a limited budget has been invigorating for us. Now it is time to set it all in motion. Living minimally, enjoying nature and the company of others are traits that we value. Any amount of money would tip the scales in favor of benefit if we come away from this as better people. The opportunity to see beauty in its simplest form, on a global scale is not only cost effective but priceless.
The trip requires a massive allocation of personal resources, both financial and mental. It will without a doubt test our limits as individuals and our relationship and commitment to each other. Staying centered involves maintaining a broad prospective of what this trip is about. Equally important is to balance this realization with the commitment of living in the moment. I have no doubt that in the end it will only bring us closer together. Our journey around the world needs to be looked at as both a trip for leisure and a search for personal limits and self discovery.
To sum up our state of mind at this point: excitement, anticipation, nervous and in love with it all. We can’t wait to be immersed in different cultures and see ruins/artifacts/architecture and proof of a civilization before Facebook and blackberries will be amazing and most certainly, humbling.
We hope that you will follow us on our incredible journey across the world!
Have a wonderfull time the coming year. See you both around September. looking forward to it*Goos

Hey! I stumbled across your blog after watching your STA travel internship application video–I REALLY hope you guys get it! I’m graduating with my B.A. in december, and would love to do a year of traveling with my boyfriend as well–he’s German, so it would give us an excuse to actually be in the same country as each other for more than a few months at a time! I was wondering if you guys would be willing to email me..or do a post..on how you managed to plan and execute such a huge trip on a limited budget!
Thanks so much and best of luck in all your future travels!
*P.S..this summer I saw a naked man walking around Barcelona too!
Hey Talia, thanks a bunch, I’ll send you an email with some info!
